Welcome to the InterMountain Silent Flyers (IMSF) Web Site

  IMSF is a group of Radio Control Soaring pilots located in the greater Salt Lake City area. The Club was established in 1979 and chartered by A.M.A. as club No. 411. The group is involved in many areas of silent flight including Thermal, Slope, Hand Launch, Cross-Country, and electric powered airplane flying activities. Some of our members have been involved in full scale gliders.The other services available to the members of IMSF are Training, equiptment, club instruction with airplanes and flying equipment like winches, retrievers, etc.  The club organizes many Events and Fun-Flys during the year and provides activities to promote those interested in pursuing personal achievment programs like LSF (league of silent flight). A large event sponsored every other year is Soar Utah, a  Slope Soaring event that includes Vintage, modern, and PSS (Power Slope Scale) Aerotow categories.  The club has several sites available for flying including the main Kearns Field, Point of the Mountain, Dry Lake in Rush valley, Grantsville out on the Salt Flats and Francis Peak for some high alpine soaring overlooking the Great Salt Lake.You can also follow our activity on RCGroups. Membership applications are submitted to our board for approval are typically reviewed within a two week period.
